The Pink’N Pretty rose (also known as Spevink) is a modern, scentless cut rose variety introduced in 2023 by Jan Spek Rozen in the Netherlands. It produces 6-8 cm, multi-season blooming, vibrant pink or cherry-red flowers with a full, ruffled English-style shape, ideal for bouquets due to its 8-12 day vase life.
Key Characteristics and Details:
- Appearance: Features a delicate, layered, or ruffled appearance similar to English Austin roses, sometimes developing “green hair” (phyllody) in the center.
- Color: Warm pink to cherry red.
- Fragrance: None or very light fragrance.
- Growth: Upright, 80-120 cm tall plant.
- Usage: Primarily used as a cut flower in bouquets.
- Vase Life: Long-lasting, typically 8-12 days.
Note: There is also a miniature rose variety named Pink-n-Pretty, registered in 2007 (breeder: Verlie W., Jr. Wells), but the 2023 Jan Spek variety is the one most commonly referred to as a “cut rose”.
